Getting clarity on roles is crucial. Right now I work with my husband, we hired a general manager and have 2 retail sales people part time. We have an outside installer. Not ideal as he is quite busy, ornery and although very good technically he scares clients as his first reaction is always negative even though he eventually resolves everything. Have been trying to find a better solution but not easy.
Other than the outside installer, the rest of us all do everything and that is way too confusing. Things invariably fall through the cracks because there is no ownership. I end up taking ownership (the buck stops here) and it is quite overwhelming. Right now I am struggling with trying to give everyone the best tasks suited to their strengths. Problem is that not one of us is very administratively driven/efficiency driven/list oriented. Even though I have LiGht ADHD – the irony (or perhaps the benefit) is that I keep on pushing to have systems to get us to the level where the next growth spurt comes to open more stores. Without a clear division of tasks that is not possible.

Vita, I have a question- your gm has a lot of tasks. Is this not too much? I guess I just am so impatient for our next weeks lesson on Airtable and how you use it to streamline your process so that all the variables are checkoffable and overseeable.
