    Hey Sara,

I finally had an opportunity to look at all the documents you were willing to share with each of us. First, thank you! You’ve certainly set us all up for success by providing all these models. I have a ton of gratitude for these documents. Secondly, I noticed in your Consult write-up; you’re deliverable, you provided some pictures in your write-up. Can you share why you provide them? Is it to support your thinking? Get them thinking about what your team is capable of creating? Is it helpful for you to put a picture to the discussion in case they do commit to working with you (now or later) the end goals of the room. Just curious! Also, you mentioned yesterday in the concept phase you keep it more vague. You provide your clients with black & white renderings intentionally, but no color. On one example, I noticed you did provide color photos of potential furniture, but you don’t show it all together per se, just individually. Again, is this just to create some dialogue during the concept phase? Do clients ever just pick right from those photos? You may have said that already, I am so sorry! So much valuable info this session.
    Best,
    Kristen

Hey everyone! It was such a pleasure meeting you! I echo the statements above on what a varying group of backgrounds-I absolutely know I will be a learner in this group! I could connect with you each differently, but will still take a humble posture of rookie! Kate, I can so appreciate your background, as the home we built in Chicago was in a quaint downtown area that protected historic homes. It’s such a process for municipalities to agree what can be touched and untouched; you’re right, you need a patient and adventurous spirit for a project of that magnitude. Carol, thank you! I appreciate your tips on how to get connected. I need all the help I can get, as I relied heavy on my FIL’s 35 years of vetted business connections. In the GC world, they say, “You’re only as good as your trades”. I think this sentiment holds true for interior designers as well. Looking forward to growing, talking, processing, and dare I say it, changing. =)
