    Dear Kat,
Thanks a lot for your reply. That helps understanding the final goal for the lesson.
And yes, yes, yes! that would be very helpful to have a quick peek during the lesson. (I am a visual person !)

Another question, but we can also discuss it during the lesson. While doing the electrical checklist, I started to refer first to the regulations (used in EU), then the recommendations, then I added extra for my project. On your projects, are you also making sure that the plan (electrical/light) follows the regulation or is it more the task of the electrician? On small renovation projects, I often do the electrical plans myself, would I be responsible then? Have you always had electrical plans created by electricians or do you also do them sometimes? What would be your advices?

    Thanks
    Celine

    Dear Kat,

    Hope you are doing well.
I just posted a homework in the week 4. It has the deliverables, the lighting/ electricity and HVAC walk checklist. Do I miss other things that I should have done?
I know that we are building the homework by week/lists but I find it difficult to see the end result or how I should create a document for future projects that has everything in it.
Could you maybe walk us through the way you organise your documents ? What are your processes on that? Do you have only one excel sheet that covers everything that you fill in during the project, if yes how did you organise it? Or, do have a project management on the side?
At the moment I feel that I am everywhere, I have Schedules for cabinetry, ceiling, lighting, plumbing…on a different tab but not a general view. I have a spreadsheet for furniture, I have spreadsheet for fees…. and an other place for the meetings, mails…
Going from one document to the other takes me a lot of time and I would like to be able to find a system that would be more efficient. I also miss the general view.

One more question, I am not sure I am posting at the right place, I have not seen anything from the group.
    Thanks
    Celine

    Hi Kat,
A bit lost here with the homework. We did not have the time to talk about it. Can you explain what we should do for next class or even if I missed what I should have done in week 2 ?
    Thanks

    Hi Kat,

Great, thanks for your answers. So the project builder “bible is a document that you share in google drive and that the both of you can update or only you?

Just this point is still not clear to me:
All local code must be followed. Is is how you note it on your plans? Can you share a plan with what you write on the title block (information about electricity, millwork measurements … indication to double check measurements before construction).

    Thanks Kat

    Hi Kat,

    Just need few precision here,

It seems that Blue beaming is more now for PC, would you have also experiences with an equivalent in Mac ( Adobe PDF maybe, would it be doing the same work?)
Do you use any project management software such as My Doma, Autodesk management, Studio designer …and if yes, do save the template that we will make in that software or only as spreadsheet ?

For the selection, can you specify where is the limit between furniture/accessories/hardware ( I guess what is attached to the wall or to a furniture).

    Thanks

    Questions week 2

    Hy Kat,

During the presentation you mentioned your “Design Guide for builder” that you to refer the builder to go check? Can you explain what is the Design guide ?

All local code must be followed. Is is how you note it on your plans? Can you share a plan with what you write on the title block (information about electricity, millwork measurements … indication to double check measurements before construction )

Austin, Texas Production Builder checklist : is it what you give to the builder?
Who does the lighting plans? In your full Design service ? You or the architects? and in the 2 others services ?

A walk through the other downloadable documents would be great.
