Hi Jenny (or anyone with some insight on the topic) – going back to the first class in regards to getting paid, if you elect to charge a flat fee, what type of payment schedule do you recommend? Assuming a portion is due up front, but at what point do you collect the rest?

I am curious to know as well what others do. I tend to do the following:

1st payment due upon execution of the agreement
2nd payment due upon presentation of preliminary design concept
3rd payment due upon delivery of final design concept and interior package.

Hi Sam,
My process is similar to Regina’s but mine is 50% at signing contract, 50% prior to spec book delivery. I like Regina’s timeframe better I think.
