    Hi all!

I know many of you are experienced designers who have established successful design businesses. I am currently in the VERY beginning stages of this process. I just registered my business and have zero clients currently so I am starting from a clean slate. I am a young designer, but have been in the industry for a few years now. Even though I have a good bit of design knowledge, I know that there is so much that I don’t know when starting this business alone and its a little overwhelming!

I was wondering if anyone has any advice for someone in my position?! Or if there is anything you wish someone would have told you when you were just starting out on your own?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Also, really loving this class Jenny! I can’t wait to hopefully work with some builders in the near future!

    Hi Brianna

I’m also a new designer and the best thing I did was hiring a good coach. Find someone who specializes in design and that you resonate with. They can help you develop a process and keep you from making costly mistakes!

    Hi Brianna,

I think one of the most important things to do is to ASK QUESTIONS! Don’t be intimidated if you don’t know something, ask! That’s why I encourage everyone to go to all the site meetings, so they can learn from the electrician, the plumber, the tile installer, the framer, all the trades basically. That’s how you’ll get the best education!
