What Level is Your Design Business?

Sales for Creatives

Because Knowing How to Sell is Non-Negotiable

When you uplevel your sales skills, you increase your revenue.

And here’s the really good news: Sales technique can be learned.

When I speak with designers, they often say things like, “I’m just not good at selling” or “You’re lucky, you’re a natural at sales.” Well, ok—maybe it’s never going to be your superpower, but what if you could be just a bit better at selling? Could that make a difference in your business, in your bottom line?

You spend so much time thinking of ways to attract new clients, creating Instagram posts designed to get people to call you, going to networking events, meeting builders and realtors for coffee. Yes, all good tactics for building your pipeline but what if you simply closed more of the clients who have already found you? And, what if you sold every project at just a bit higher margin?

Learning sales skills is essential and the best, most direct way to impact your profitability. Make more money, with less clients, in less time. Starting to see what I mean? I can teach you how to do this.

LuAnn Nigara
LuAnn Knows a Thing or Two About Sales

LuAnn Nigara

Host of A Well-Designed Business®, Co-Owner of Window Works

LuAnn has sold between 750K and 1 million in sales, year after year after year. Learn first hand—live—the strategies she uses for selling, negotiating and creating win-wins for herself and her clients.

Selling is problem solving.

Whether you’re selling a design solution or a business resolution, negotiation and sales skills are a must if you want to be a successful creative entrepreneur. When it comes to this topic, I have a lot to share:

  • Projects that go smoothly, without any hiccups, are not only unrealistic, they are also easily forgettable to our clients. Sales and negotiation skills will help you control the narrative and reframe even the stickiest situations in the mind of the client.
  • Successful project management relies on your ability to gather, manage and lead a team. Selling and negotiating skills are at the core of these activities.
  • A successful transaction is when you deliver the service, product or solution that is best for your client. A successful business is when you make a profit on what you sell. An exceptional sales pro finds the away to achieve both. I will teach you how to do that.

Excellence is a decision. Will you decide to be as excellent a sales professional as you are an interior designer? I hope so.
