ParticipantDear Jenny,
I had to miss the last class and just had the opportunity to watch the week 5 lesson. I wanted to say Thank You for your instruction and all the information you shared through the lessons.
I’ll probably make myself revisit the recordings at some point because there was a lot of good stuff in there.
All the Best to you.

ParticipantFor the downloads from week 3, there is actually no “Google Sheet” document to download/copy, only “Numbers” and “Excel”.
The Google Sheet is mislabeled and is actually a duplicate of the “Numbers” document.I would love a copy of the Google sheets template for making finishing schedule, as that is what I will be using.
Thank you

Participant@jennyslingerland Dear Jenny,
I have a question about $
I’m new to this, entering into interior design from styling, doing my first project now.
I contacted 1 contractor last year and have kept up with them. Finally a project came through that would be appropriate for me to come in on.
I just drew up my first renovation of a garage to ADU….so a very manageable way to start. I’m going to have to invoice, but I didn’t set a rate for hourly or overall project fee bc I’m learning and I had no idea how long it would take…. but I WILL invoice. What would you price for a little design project of remodeling a garage? Gut reaction, overall price tag. what do you think? My intuition is saying $2,200. The guy is doing me a favor to let me get experience, but also I want to charge an honorable amount, so I’m not setting a low precedent for going forward if I continue to do projects with him. So far, I’m at 32 hrs….what # do you think? I also am coming from an industry where the day rate is very high but I don’t work all the time, so I don’t know how to gauge this/if I’m being greedy or low-ball.
Thank you for your expertise. I appreciate your humor in class 🙂
